The first electric omnibus arrived to Krasnodar
The first out of twelve trolleybuses with a self-sufficient motion manufactured by Vologda plant "Trans-Alfa" was delivered to Krasnodar. As reported in the Mayor’s Office, the order was dispatched to the plant less than a month ago.
It is reported that by the end of the year 47 new vehicles, namely, 35 trams and 12 electric omnibuses, will be operating on the urban circuits of public transport.
The electric omnibuses are equipped with air conditioning with a capacity of less than 24kWt capable of operating under the temperatures up to +40° outdoors, option of a self-sufficient motion not less than 15km, automatic fire-extinguishing system, USB-connectors for charging equipment, navigation & communication system, Wi-Fi and video-surveillance system.
In addition, the new electric omnibuses are equipped with a system of transportation of passengers with disabilities (function of floor lowering at stops, a lift-up ramp near the second door, a driver interface communication button near the second door and a place for accommodation of wheelchairs equipped with a device for their fastening on the move).
Vologda Mechanics Plant (VMP) has been operating since 1966. In 1994 a strategic line of activity of VMP became the manufacture of new trolleybuses and autobuses. In 1996 the plant started operating in conjunction with a Czech group corporation "Skoda". The first Russian trolleybus "Skoda-VMP" was released in March 1996. In 2001 VMP was renamed into the plant "Trans-Alfa".
