September 10, 2020 / Investment
Krasnodar Airport will become a full-fledged multimodal passenger transport hub, Sergey Chernomaz, the Chairman of the South Export-Import Hub expert group, said at the I International Conference УMultimodal Transport Ц 2020Ф.
The hub is a complex investment project, the first stage of which will be completed at the end of 2023 with the commissioning of a new airport complex with transport infrastructure.
The second stage, a multimodal passenger transport hub (including the railway and bus stations), will be implemented until 2025. An industrial park and a technopark, storage facilities, public catering, shopping malls, and hotels will be built around the transport hub.
Besides, it is planned to create a large year-round entertainment zone with a water park of open and enclosed-type on the square, a carting center, and an amusement park.
The railway access to the airport will be also changed, in particular, additional railway access will be implemented for long-distance trains and suburban trains.
According to preliminary estimates, as a result of the project implementation, from 3 to 5 thousand new jobs may appear by 2023, and 45,000 jobs by 2042.
