August 27, 2020 / Investment

Within the framework of the project «Southern export & import hub» it is planned to establish a new transfer hub in the capital of Kuban. Due to this the passenger traffic of the airport of Kuban capital will grow by 15-20%.

Within the framework of implementation of the project from 2023 to 2030 a transport hub will be established on an area of 370 hectares. Its main objective is to launch multimodal transports. Thus, it is planned to ship passengers to the Black Sea coast and resorts of North Caucasus on electric trains «Lastochka» from this point.

It is worth noting that the works on the construction of a terminal complex have started within the framework of the project «Southern export & import hub». In particular, preparatory works have almost completed; the project is being prepared and surveys are running. The construction works as planned will start in the first quarter next year. And by the summer 2023 the terminal complex will start its operation in a test mode. The terminal complex will be fully operational as expected in December 2023.

This project is estimated at 25 billion rubles. Its implementation would enable to expand the throughput capacity of the airport from 1100 up to 2600 passengers per hour.

The construction of a new transport hub also provides for the construction of a section of the route Temryuk-Krasnodar-Kropotkin. The motorway will be extended directly to the terminal complex. As expected, the complex will integrate four transport flows – railway, public and personal transport as well as an air service.
